Do you accept insurance?
We currently accept Horizon PPO insurance. Please note that it’s the patient’s responsibility to confirm that Bergen Dermatology is listed as an in-network provider under their plan. If we are not in-network, the visit will be billed as out-of-network.
We encourage you to check with your insurance provider before your appointment to avoid any unexpected costs.

Will I get a bill after my visit to submit to my insurance?
Yes. After each visit, a superbill will be sent to you via Klara within 48 hours. You can submit this to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Can I use my insurance for pathology fees, bloodwork, and prescriptions?
Yes. While office visits and procedure fees are paid directly to the practice, you can use your insurance for pathology, bloodwork, and prescriptions.

What about pathology and lab fees?
Pathology and lab processing fees depend on the vendor (e.g., Quest, LabCorp, Bridge Pathology, etc.). If you’d like your specimen sent to a specific location, please inform us at the time of your visit. Please note that you are responsible for payment of these fees directly to the vendor.

Do I need prior authorization?
Bergen Dermatology sends all prescriptions to Bergen Medical Pharmacy, which can fulfill most prior authorizations on our behalf. However, if your prescription plan requires that our office perform a prior authorization, there will be a $30 administrative fee to cover the time and resources needed to complete the process.

What payment methods are accepted?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards (except American Express), as well as Health Spending Accounts (HSAs) and Flex Spending Accounts (FSAs). Payment is due at the time of service.

What is your deposit policy?
To reserve your appointment, a $50 deposit is required. This deposit secures your spot on our schedule and is applied toward your visit. If you attend your appointment, the deposit will be applied toward your total or refunded when no out-of-pocket costs remain. Deposits can be paid via Zelle, credit/debit card, or our online payment portal.

What is the cost of a virtual visit?
You can receive expert dermatologic care from the comfort of your home.

  • New patient virtual visit: $225
  • Follow-up virtual visit: $165
Virtual consultations are ideal for most medical skin concerns and select cosmetic consultations.

What is the cost of an in-person visit?
Bergen Dermatology has transitioned to a direct-care model, which means we no longer accept insurance for in-office visits.

  • New patient visit: $275
  • Follow-up visit: $225
This fee covers the office visit only. Any additional treatments or procedures are billed separately.

What is the cost of a cosmetic consultation?
The consultation fee is $150. This fee is applied toward your procedure cost if booked within one month of your consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance by calling 201-567-7546 or texting via Klara.

  • Cancellations made ≥48 hours in advance: Your $50 deposit will be refunded.
  • Cancellations made <48 hours in advance: The deposit will be non-refundable.
  • No-shows: The deposit will be forfeited. Repeated missed appointments without notice may result in dismissal from the practice.

What if I miss an appointment?
We understand that things happen. However, multiple missed appointments without appropriate notice may result in dismissal from the practice.
