3 Mel Robbins–Approved Habits That Support Skin Health

3 Mel Robbins–Approved Habits That Support Skin Health

August is National Wellness Month, and if you're anything like me (balancing motherhood, running a practice, caring for patients, and navigating a very digital world), wellness can sometimes feel like just another thing to manage.

But real wellness isn’t complicated. It lives in your routines. It’s how you move, how you rest, how you unplug, and how you stay connected to yourself and the people around you.

This month, I’m taking inspiration from one of my favorite thought leaders, Mel Robbins, who reminds us that transformation doesn’t require perfection, just action. One small, intentional decision can shift your day, your mindset, and even your skin.

So instead of doing more, let’s come back to what matters. I’m focusing on three habits that support skin health, mental clarity, longevity, and cellular vitality. I invite you to try one for the next seven days.

1. Move Your Body for 30 Minutes a Day

You don’t need a gym membership or a perfectly timed workout. Just move.
Walk through your neighborhood. Stretch while your coffee brews. Dance in your kitchen. It all counts.

Movement increases circulation, supports detox pathways, reduces inflammation, and fuels your cells with oxygen and nutrients. These small actions support your skin’s clarity, firmness, and repair. Movement isn’t just physical- it’s mental, emotional, and cellular.

Mel Robbins says, “you are one decision away from a completely different life.” Let that decision today be movement.

2. Put Your Phone in Another Room

Let’s be honest we’re more plugged in than ever. And while our phones keep us informed and connected, they also drain our focus and energy.

Creating space from your screen gives your nervous system room to breathe. Whether it’s 30 minutes during dinner, before bed, or while you stretch, stepping away can improve mental clarity, sleep, and even reduce stress-related skin issues.

3. Connect with Someone Outside Your Circle

Wellness isn’t just about green juice and skincare. It’s about connection. It’s about the nervous system regulation that comes from feeling seen and supported.

Reach out to someone new. A neighbor. A former colleague. A friend you admire but haven’t spoken to in a while. It doesn’t have to be deep. Just real.

We’re wired for community. And when we expand our circle, even in small ways, we’re reminding our brains and bodies that we’re safe, supported, and not alone.

Your 7-Day Wellness Challenge

Pick one of the three habits above
Practice it daily for the next seven days
Pay attention to how your body, energy, and even your skin respond

This isn’t about discipline. It’s about devotion- to your well-being, your nervous system, and your long-term vitality.

As a lifestyle dermatologist, I see it all the time: small choices create powerful skin and health transformations. It’s not just the ingredients you use or the treatments you choose. It’s how you live. And this month, I hope you give yourself permission to slow down, come back to your body, and care for your skin from the inside out.

I also want to say thank you. I'm blessed to have a practice that allows me to connect with people from all walks of life. That connection is my wellness too. It keeps me grounded, curious, and full of purpose.

Bridging Wellness and Skin Health

This National Wellness Month, inspired by Mel Robbins’ reminder that small actions lead to big results, I’ve been focusing on movement, digital boundaries, and meaningful connection. But wellness isn’t just how you feel—it shows up in your skin too.

If summer sun has left you with more hyperpigmentation, melasma, or uneven tone, this is your sign to shift from maintaining to correcting.

The Radiant Renewal Plan is a seasonal reset for your skin. With monthly chemical peels, microneedling with Toskani Cocktails, red light therapy, and a personalized skincare regimen, this program targets dark spots, improves texture, and stimulates collagen. The 6-month option includes Fotona Laser for deeper, more lasting results.

Book your consultation and let’s create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, your rhythm, and your long-term skin health.

Radiant skin is a lifestyle.
